BAN INOUE : v-neck dress - caya
BAN INOUE : v-neck dress - caya
This long-sleeved piece is simplicity itself. Worn as a breathable summer dress layered over a slip, popped overhead as a beach cover-up, or paired with pants as a tunic, it's as comfortable as it is versatile. With a deep V-neck and front centre seam, the cut is straighter than Ban Inoue's more A-line dresses, with side splits to above the knee.

care
care
This fine, net-like textile is woven from pure cotton and stiffened with natural plant starches for presentation. With washing and wear, you can expect its texture to become incredibly soft, with a waffle-ish character as shown in the last picture. Caya can be machine washed in cold water on a gentle cycle (a laundry bag will help prevent snags), but should not be tumble dried. Reshape while damp and dry flat in shade.

Ban Inoue
From the beautiful ancient capital Nara, Ban Inoue make breathable garments in simple styles, allowing the soft texture and natural comfort of their textiles to take focus. Still traditionally woven to this day, caya cotton is renowned in Japan for a beauty of near spiritual quality, inspiring poetry and ukiyo-e woodblock prints of the Edo period. Today, Ban Inoue wish to preserve the gentle aesthetic and comfort of caya with contemporary, wearable styles.
